Have you or someone you know faced job or housing discrimination because of a criminal record?
The Urban League of Portland along with are launching a campaign to pass an ordinance in the City of Portland to require employers and landlords to remove the box on applications asking about an applicant’s previous arrest record or convictions. In the proposed ordinance, if background checks are necessary, they are done much later in process giving all applicants a fair chance to employment and housing.
