State Capitol Hearing in Salem at 8:00 am
Hearing Room E, 900 Court Street NE, Salem OR

City Council Second Hearing in Portland at 3pm
Portland City Hall Council Chambers, 1221 SW 4th Ave, Portland OR

The Urban League and our supporting organizations need your help to Ban The Box in Oregon!

What you can do:

Help us pack the Hearing Room!
The more folks in the room, the stronger our voice. Invite your members and friends to attend either the hearing in Salem at 8am or the Portland City Council Second Hearing at 3pm – Or BOTH! Transportation can be provided by sending a request to Midge Purcell gro.xdplunull@llecrupm

Help us tell your story.
Are you or someone you know affected by barriers to employment because of their past criminal history?  We want to hear from them and so do the legislators at the State Capitol and Portland City Council. Arrive early to sign up to testify at the events! If you signed up last time but didn’t get a chance to tell your story you will be first in line.

Send a letter of support to the House Committee on Business and Labor &/or the Portland City Council members.
Let them know why you or your organization supports Ban the Box.

Send a letter to the editor of The Oregonian or the Portland Tribune.
We need to generate media visibility and support!

Build momentum on social media.
Don’t forget to use our hashtags:
