Other than on call, all of our Residential positions are providing up to a $1000 sign on Bonus through 12/31/2019. Some restrictions apply.
Residents of the PSRB are referred by the Psychiatric Review Board (PSRB) and have involvement in the criminal justice system. Residents at these programs are typically high functioning individuals who need minimal supervision to ensure completion of household tasks and meal preparation. Staff help with dispensing medication, ensuring safety of residents, providing support and guidance, and education around ADLs (activities of daily living), including nutrition and exercise. Residents work through a level system that corresponds with increasing independence and responsibility. They often participate in skills training and therapeutic support groups at an outpatient clinic setting. In addition, they are provided support with vocational rehab and finding jobs or volunteer work. They reside at the program before transitioning into independent or semi-independent living.
In addition to these programs, there are also two Respite Programs. One is located in Tigard and the other in Gresham, Rockwood area. Respite provides support for individuals who need further stabilization due to recent medication adjustment, or needs a break from current living situation which appears to be increasing psychiatric symptom and is diagnosed with a mental illness (OHP-covered diagnosis), excluding mental disorders due to a general condition.
We have more than one of these positions. Full time, part time, on call, and sometimes float positions, that work at various sites to meet a certain number of work hours per week, are typically available. They are located in Downtown NW Portland, SW Multnomah Village, and Portland on the East side of the river (NE & SE). Shifts available are often day, swing and overnight shifts.
The Residential Counselors and Treatment Specialist work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to implement and monitor treatment for residents within the residential facility. These positions involve participation and implementation of program goals and objectives to promote a strengths-based, client centered approach to assisting residents in achieving individual goals and ultimately transitioning to a less restrictive setting.
Level I requires a High school diploma or GED equivalent
Level II requires a BA degree in a behavioral science field or a combination of education and mental health work experience.
Some work experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred.
Operate Computer hardware and software (Including Electronic Health Record Software) at a level to effectively perform the job functions, including entering and retrieving data.
Work may include the use of company provided transportation in order to transport clients; incumbent may need to possess a valid driver’s license, three year driving history; clean driving record, ability to pass Driver
Motor Vehicle (DMV) check and complete the Cascadia online Defensive Driving course (Overnight shift is an exception based on program needs).
