Position:  Development Services Coordinator

Department:  Development

FTE:  .75 (Non-Exempt); Level 2

Reports to:  Development Services Manager


The Development Services Coordinator supports the Development Services Manager as the primary interface between the development database system (The Raiser’s Edge) and development staff. Some tasks include data collection and dissemination, constituent records management, gift processing, acknowledgement data, analysis and report preparation. The Development Services Coordinator is a contributing member of the development staff committed to optimizing the use of the database to meet fundraising goals by managing fundraising software, maintaining data integrity and working creatively and systematically to meet the needs of the development staff.


Ensures accurate data collection and data integrity through regular data checks and reviews of donor records
Work directly with the Development Team to capture, maintain and extract detailed reports and data in a timely manner regarding organization donors, events and volunteers through The Raiser’s Edge
Maintenance and correction of all demographic and personal data
Enter daily gift batches and report to the Development Team
Manage online contributions and ensure transition into donor database
Coordinate month end reconciliation with the Business Office
Generate mailing lists and reports as requested by Development and Executive Teams
Generate monthly pledge reminders
Generate acknowledgement letters
File documents related to gift solicitation and collection
Participate in department and school wide meetings, trainings and events which may occur in the evening or on weekend
Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, parents, board members, donors and alumni to provide information and respond to inquires
Uses judgement and discretion in sensitive communications

Needs to show high attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Be able to manage several tasks at one time
Demonstrate familiarity with the general principles of development
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and Excel
Knowledge of gift processing and relationship between development and the business office
Comfortable working with sensitive and highly confidential information
Familiar with general principles of development
2-3 years of experience with The Raiser’s Edge or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system preferred
Experience with mail merge using MS Word and MS Excel
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Monday through Friday, 8:00 – 5:00

Office environment, may require lifting up to 30 pounds

Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, required
