Pay Range 19: $48,321 – $63,587 annually depending on qualifications.

Full-time, non-exempt position with benefits.

The City of Hillsboro Finance Department is looking for an energetic, customer service oriented team player to work in Utility Billing.  This position provides service to the City’s utility billing customers which includes customer support, billing, payments, account set up, business licenses, liquor licenses; and so much more.

 

The ideal candidate must be able to work with a diverse customer base, provide exceptional customer service, multi-task, and be detail oriented. Candidates need customer service and cash handling experience preferably in utility billing.

 

General Statement of Duties

The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform routine technical level accounting, and billing work involving the review, documentation, balancing, and reconciliation of various financial data. Responsibilities include entering data, journal entries into automated financial system; updating records and conducting billing procedures; reviewing documents for compliance with applicable policies and procedures; compiling and generating reports; providing customer service; maintaining records, preparing and processing data uploads; educating employees regarding procedures and systems; and conducting research.

 

Positions assigned to Utility Billing may be responsible for:

·         Providing service and information to customers in person, on the phone and through email;

·         Receiving, processing and applying customer payments to applicable accounts;

·         Entering customer account information and maintaining account profiles;

·         Processing customer billing and adjustments;

·         Providing write off and collection documentation.

 

Acceptable Experience and Training

High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of financial support related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

 

Licensing/Certifications

·         Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
