The Recreation Services Manager is charged with maximizing resources to most effectively and efficiently meet the bureau’s mission. The Manager must do so while creating and sustaining an environment of culturally responsive customer service and recreation programming in order to meet the needs of a changing community. PP&R’s commitment to equity drives every aspect of strategic planning and decision-making in determining how to best deliver the services Portlanders value within the resources that are available. The Recreation Services Manager reports to the PP&R Director and is a member of the Senior Management Team responsible for setting strategic direction and policy and participating in overall leadership for the bureau. The Recreation Services Manager must demonstrate a high degree of competency in organizational leadership, personnel and financial management, policy analysis, strategic planning and communications, and community relations.
