De Paul serves the greater Portland community by providing drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. We are currently seeking a full-time Detoxification Technician.
The Detox Technician (DT) performs all duties relevant to providing direct care for individuals receiving detoxification and treatment services within the guidelines of De Paul Treatment Center’s mission and policies & procedures.
These duties include, but are not limited to: Multi-disciplinary collaboration regarding patient care, track potential detoxification clients and ensures consistent, quick screening and documentation; perform thorough searches of clients’ rooms and belongings and inventories belongings accurately, provide direct care for all clients to include monitoring for behavioral needs/changes, medical symptoms and/or compliance with the treatment plan, assist RN with medication and the medical needs of clients, monitoring UAs and breathalyzer testing, keep client rooms and the work environment sanitized and free of garbage, used food and potentially hazardous waste, ensure clients have clean clothing and bedding, provide clients with access to fluids, snacks and meals, assist with inventory, routine maintenance and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
The DT works under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse of Medical services and as a direct support to the nursing team. The work environment is fast-paced and high volume. The detoxification program is operated 24/7, therefore, shift assignments may include days, evening, nights, weekends and holidays. CMA or CNA certification is preferred but nor required.
$13 / hour + shift differential for swing and graveyard shifts.
Position requires 2+ years’ of continuous sobriety, if recovering.
