First Transit, contractor for the TriMet LIFT Program, is currently recruiting for a full-time Dispatcher. The position includes operating a text and 2-way radio communication system; Electronic Dispatch scheduling system to monitor operation practices to assure compliance with rules and regulations; reporting violations, including customer inquiries.

Candidate must accurately recall Tri-County (Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington) geography including locations of major roads, neighborhoods, schools, parks, community centers and other key landmarks and also maintains and completes all required records, logs and reports

The ideal candidate works well under pressure, will be friendly, responsible, have some background in a dispatch environment and will enjoy working with the elderly or people with disabilities.

Our dispatch center is open 24 hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  Shifts may vary.

Starting wage is $13.00 per hour.

Employees will also receive a FREE annual TriMet bus pass.

We Require:

– 21 years or older
– Current Driver’s License
– High school diploma/GED
– Pass a typing test with at least 35 WPM and computer tests
– Good 10 key skills
– Experienced with Microsoft Office and Outlook
– Good attention to detail
– Good customer service, verbal and written communication skills
– Skills to work independently as well as a team member and be adaptable to changing environment.
– Have good problem-solving skills along with commitment to a safety habits
– Have reliable transportation within hours of operations to be at work
