Position Summary:
The Design & Construction Project Manager position supports Home Forward’s strategic and operational objectives in the following way:

To manage and oversee design and construction for the development, capital improvement, and re-development of low income and special needs housing projects of varying size, complexity and construction type; lead teams of hired professionals charged with project delivery from concept stage through due diligence, procurement, design, financial closing (as needed) construction, closeout and the post-construction warranty period; participate actively within integrated teams of Project and Finance Managers tasked with delivering new construction and rehabilitation projects utilizing bank loans, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTCs) and other public funds as required to accomplish Home Forward’s development goals; oversee contracts for due diligence, design, and construction, ensuring (as needed) that all relevant information is shared with teamed Finance Manager tasked with assembling project financing; and respond to questions and inquiries from residents regarding development and capital improvement projects.

In this context, the incumbent in this position will collaborate with others at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders in the consideration of significant goals, concepts, initiatives, and other activities that profoundly affect Home Forward, its employees, and the people that it serves.

This position will be required to travel but will primarily be stationed at Home Forward’s New Market West building located at: 135 SW Ash Street Portland, OR 97204.

Qualifications:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field.; Minimum five years of increasingly responsible experience managing construction project development and contract administration including experience in a management and supervisory role. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license is required.
