We’re looking for an experienced event manager who has a positive, team first attitude, is highly organized, prides themselves with their attention to detail and can easily juggle planning multiple events at once making what we do look like a breeze.
The Event Manager serves as the liaison to events hosted by the Oregon Convention Center in determining and executing event requirements and details. The position performs work of a professional nature which requires knowledge of event operations and the ability to coordinate and monitor work performance by a variety of technicians, laborers and other personnel. The work involves making decisions on services required for an event and services to be billed. This position manages multiple concurrent events, such as consumer shows, trade shows, performances, seminars, meal functions and meetings and ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, programs and services.
The Oregon Convention Center (OCC), a LEED Platinum facility, is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest, hosting more than 12 million visitors since its opening in 1990. Annually hosting roughly 500 events with an average of $450 million in economic benefit for the region from the national and international visitors who attend conventions and events at the facility.

A minimum of two years of experience in event management for a public assembly facility or similar and a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, business administration, or related field, and, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a current and valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification or acquire one within 90 days of being hired.
