Salary: $13.47 – $13.73 hourly
This is an internal and a First Opportunity recruitment opportunity. Internal applicants must be current employees of Metro having regular, regular part-time or temporary employment. Employees must have gone through a competitive selection process for the position currently held.
Probationary step: $13.47/hour; regular step: $13.73/hour.
Part-time shifts vary in location and times of day/days of the week and will be scheduled based on frequency of events and labor workforce needs of the events at the facilities.
Gate Attendants and Ushers perform work under the direction of an Admissions Lead, House Manager or Event Manager at the Portland’5 Centers for the Arts and Oregon Convention Center. Additional shifts may be available at the Expo Center
Gate Attendant: Takes tickets, monitors doors and entrances during events; directs patrons; enforces facility rules and regulations; occasionally patrols special events.
Usher: Greets patrons, provides direction and assistance to seat locations and generally assists in making the patrons’ stay a pleasant one; develops a detailed knowledge of the seating arrangements in the assigned facility; enforces facility rules and regulations.

One year experience dealing directly with the general public in a high volume situation and a high school diploma or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job. Must be 18 years of age or older. Requires ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, weeknights and weekends, including evenings and holidays.
Previous experience working with crowd management desirable.
