The Position:

The Clinical Care Manager is responsible for providing support, guidance, and day to day supervision of a pilot residential shelter housing youth entering foster care and awaiting placement.  This position includes the oversight of residential and clinical staff along with managing daily operations from the onset.  The Clinical Care Manager is also responsible for providing youth intervention, ensuring a safe space, and maintaining compliance with licensing requirements.  The Clinical Care Manager will also be responsible for clinical assessment, program intake, and discharge planning & support.  The ideal candidate for this position is resourceful, responsive, and can readily develop creative solutions.  In addition, this individual must be trauma informed, compassionate, and demonstrate a sound understanding of diverse challenges that will accompany this role.

Education & Experience:

QMHP and/or Master’s degree required.
Prior professional experience working in direct service with a wide developmental range of youth
Experience conducting mental health and behavioral assessments
Experience hiring, training, onboarding, and supervising mental health and behavioral health staff
Demonstrated inclusive leadership style and focus on advancing equity
Background in developing and implementing youth skills building curriculum including (social skills, health and safety, academic skills, coping skills, fun and recreational groups, mindfulness, problem solving, leadership, self-advocacy)
Knowledge and experience working with Department of Human Services and foster care providers (DHS case workers, CASA’s, attorney’s, foster parents/guardians, advocates, Community based  partners)
Experience with crisis intervention, including training on non-violent de-escalation and hands on intervention (CPI or similar intervention training)
Experience providing residential treatment or shelter services preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus

Skills & Knowledge:

Desire to work with multicultural staff and youth
Proven competence to effectively manage day to day shelter operations including staffing, safety, maintenance coordination, youth intervention, crisis management, reporting and collaboration with facility Director
Ability to respond to crisis and provide afterhours crisis support
Knowhow to work closely with Child Welfare staff to coordinate youth care (assessment, intake, medication management plan, behavioral and mental health support planning, placement and transition planning, transportation to and from appointments, basic needs support)
Demonstrated expertise in Trauma Informed care, collaborative problems solving, and advanced youth development
Ability to effectively partner with New Avenues Quality Assurance team to ensure effectiveness of services and legal/ethical/contracts compliance.
Expressed interest in developing and managing teams to support a positive team culture
