OCHIN is currently looking for a talented Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team!

The MarCom Specialist   is responsible for assisting with communication and marketing activities across the organization. Working directly with the Marketing Manager, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will focus on creating and editing written collateral, developing visual content and assessing brand metrics and opportunities.  This person is responsible for helping to ensure a consistent and engaging brand voice and presence on OCHIN products, providing analytics reports, and growing related outreach opportunities. The Marketing and Communications Specialist assists with communications, marketing, and media relations projects and campaigns. As a highly detail-oriented, organized,creative contributor, this person will create visual and written content across existing and new mediums.

In this role, you’ll be collaborating with an innovative team of people moving exciting projects forward and working to improve systems and processes along the way.

Some of the work you’ll do:

– Coordinate and support corporate communications under the Marketing Manager’s guidance, review and edit key communications

– Research, write, create or produce for blog and social media channels, featuring OCHIN’s research, innovation, policy, membership updates, and other priority topics

– Deliver on-brand visual support, including creation of new collateral, updates to existing materials and support for content alignment across OCHIN

– Develop opportunities for visual displays of technical and data-focused content

– Under the guidance of the Marketing Manager and leadership team, develop and lead video content for OCHIN

– Support market analytics

– Develop metrics for understanding brand perception and market penetration

– Understand market trends and analyze competitors

– Identify opportunities to increase awareness and improve market capture

– Other duties as assigned


– 3-5 years of relevant experience in a marketing or communications role

– 1-2 years of social media outreach/engagement experience

– Strong organizational, communications, and editing skills

– Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or Journalism, or equivalent professional experience

– Demonstrated experience in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment

– Experience in the following software programs and applications:Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Adobe Creative Suite- including Photoshop and InDesign
Social media and related tools, Squarespace, Google Analytics,
WebEx or GoToMeeting,

– Email marketing software (e.g., Emma, Constant Contact)

– Proven critical thinker who makes appropriate decisions and finds solutions easily

– Attention to detail; takes pride in and ownership of their work, and is able to manage projects from concept through launch with little supervision

– Must work effectively under pressure while meeting deadlines and delivering superior results

– Ability to generate new and creative ideas

– A strong track record as an emplementer who thrives on managing multiple project concurrently

– Sincere commitment to working collaboratively with all constituent groups (members, staff, etc.)

– Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to communicate with diverse audiences
