Oregon Children’s Theatre

Oregon Children’s Theatre (OCT) seeks a seasoned professional to fill an immediate opening as Development Director. Reporting to OCT’s managing director, this full-time position is charged with planning and managing the organization’s fundraising initiatives, working in collaboration with OCT’s artistic director and board of directors.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative leader with substantive fundraising experience. Successful candidates will have experience engaging board members in carrying out their responsibilities for fund development, building relationships with patrons, and securing support from a variety of sources. Experience in managing major individual donor campaigns will be especially valued. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are a must. Experience in raising funds for arts and arts education would be helpful, but is not a prerequisite. The position offers an opportunity to support the relevant and powerful mission of Oregon Children’s Theatre in a supportive and collaborative workplace.

OCT has a $3.4 million operating budget and 25 full-time staff, as well as many artists and teachers hired seasonally. Approximately 25% of the budget comes through contributions.  The Development Director creates and implements a strategic approach to reach fundraising goals through a variety of approaches including an annual donor campaign, major gift cultivation, corporate sponsorships, foundation and government grants, and fundraising/cultivation events.
