Trillium Charter School

Trillium Charter School is a public charter school in North Portland. We’re a unique mix of a public school and a non-profit organization whose vision is to create an inclusive, equitable and intellectually rigorous culture where knowledge is built through experience.

We are in need of a part-time Bookkeeper to work as a part of a two-person finance team that is continually building systems and improving processes in an effort to build a rock-solid finance operation. If you’d like to do your accounting work in a flexible educational setting and be a part of a team building a foundation for the future, then we’ve got the job for you.

The Trillium Bookkeeper must be proficient and have experience with Quickbooks, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll and Employee Benefits. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Operations Manager, Accountant and Executive Director.

-General accounting (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices,
preparing deposits, journal entries, monitoring cash expenditures)
-Coordinate and facilitate payroll process with third party administrator
-Communicate with school staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their programs
-Maintain the Accounts Payable and Receivable records and accounts
-Prepare invoices for Preschool, Aftercare, Lunch and other programs
-Assist in managing employee benefits
-Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records

– Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
– Proficient in Quickbooks, Google Docs, Microsoft excel and other basic computer skills (word, email, internet)
– Very organized and systematic nature
– Fast learner and independent worker

– Great communication skills, a clear & straightforward style
– Technically sound and confident with new technology

Ideal Candidate will:
-have 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
-have experience working with non-profit organizations

Part Time/22 hours per week over four or five days, Monday through Friday. Employer-subsidized Health Coverage available. Dental Coverage available but paid by employee. 4 personal days, 8 sick days, 10 vacation days per year. This position is eligible for retirement benefits through PERS.
