City of Portland Proclaims June 10, 2015 a day of recognition for Midge Purcell

“I am honored to host a day of recognition and appreciation for Midge Purcell, who has served as the Urban League of Portland’s Director of Advocacy and Public Policy. As you may know, Midge will be leaving the Urban League of Portland this month to return to the UK.
Since 2005, Midge Purcell has led the Urban League of Portland’s work on community organizing, civic engagement and social policy advocacy. During her tenure, she spearheaded the State of Black Oregon Report and coordinated the Urban League’s efforts to implement the report’s policy recommendations on employment, education, health equity, child welfare and criminal justice.
Before she leaves, her Urban League legacy and contributions to the community will be recognized by a City of Portland Proclamation declaring June 10, 2015 as a day of recognition for Midge Purcell.
