Help Local Families Go Camping!

CHW Shanaquewa Finney's Group at Oregon Museam of Science - 6-10-16 2 CHW families at Portland Children's Museum

One of the best things about living in the majesty of the Pacific Northwest is being able to experience the wonder of nature firsthand.  Many of us think back to our summers as times when we played outdoors, explored our region, and learned from nature.  This summer, the Urban League of Portland would love for our summer program participants to experience a rite of passage that’s essential to growing up an Oregonian. We want to take 30 Urban League families participating in our Community Health Worker programs camping, and we need your help to make it happen!

Many families in our programs don’t have the means to leave the city for even a few days. We know how important it is for kids to just be kids and enjoy the freedom of summer. Here at the Urban League, we’ve spent these first few weeks of summer helping make that possible for our youth. With your help, we can make sure all of our families get to experience the wonder of camping.
