Join Us on #Giving Tuesday!

We have a day for giving thanks. We also have two others for shopping and getting great internet deals. Our outreach to you today is different. #GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back in support of organizations who seek to serve the greater good. This week, if you become a new or renewing member of the Urban League of Portland at the Advocate of Equality level, in addition to supporting one of the leading voices for people of color in the region, you’ll receive two tickets to the “Urban League Community Night” at the Portland Trail Blazers game vs the Sacramento Kings on Monday, January 19, Martin Luther King, Jr Day.
Our work in the upcoming new year will continue to benefit and influence the community as we strive to empower African Americans and others to achieve equality in education, employment, health, economic security, and quality of life.

With your help we will:

State of Black Oregon Terrelle Tucker: A Workforce Program Success Story Senior Services
Increase the power, voice and well-being of Oregon’s black population by informing, engaging and organizing the community to achieve a more equitable and just place to live and work with powerful advocacy and meaningful engagement.

Connect individuals and employers to create clear pathways to sustainable, living wage employment and help address the overwhelmingly disproportionate unemployment in this region for African Americans and other communities of color.

Continue to provide one of the only culturally specific African American senior programs in the state by offering quality services and activities that allow our elders to remain independent, safe and active in their own homes, and engaged in our community.

Your contribution on #GivingTuesday will make our work possible in 2015.  Please click here to make your donation through Network for Good and become a 2015 member of the Urban League of Portland.  Thank you in advance for your support.
