Right now, in our own backyard, 40% of kids are trapped in a cycle of poverty. 40%! The Urban League offers a variety of programs to help African American families break that cycle in meaningful ways. From our summer youth program that offers children of all backgrounds an opportunity to build skills for achievement in college and the workforce to our Cover Oregon team that helps families to save money on health coverage, the Urban League is at the forefront of empowering the community to end childhood poverty. Our partner, United Way is hosting >24 (“More than 24”) to give everyone in the community a chance to step in and help us do more together to end childhood poverty in our community. >24 is about more than just one day of giving. It marks the start of a new journey to give every kid a fair chance.
When you give more than $24 to >24, on June 11, United Way will match your donation 100% (up to $100,000), you’ll be entered into a sweepstakes for prizes, and you’ll get to vote for the nonprofit of your choice to win a bonus, unrestricted grant from the dollars raised. The organization with the most votes will win $10,000! Give! Vote for us! Click here to show your support today.
