The Urban League’s Workforce Program has trained unemployed and underemployed individuals in technical and nontechnical careers in emerging industries.
The League has successfully assisted in placing individuals in careers with salaries ranging from $10.00/hour to over $80,000.00/year. This is a significant accomplishment– especially considering the current state of the economy. The Urban League has reached 100% of its job placement goals through our Workforce Programs. Career positions attained by clients include Building Energy Auditors and Analyst, Entry-Level General Office, Executive Administrative Assistants, Clerical, Compliance Officer, Flagging, Heating Air-Conditioning and Ventilation (HVAC) Technicians, Construction, Healthcare, CDL Truck Drivers, and many more.
Workforce Program Participants receive personal coaching, support services and training to prepare for living-wage jobs. Participants will receive personal support while they are in training based on individual need and availability of funding. We will continue to coach participants long after they are placed in employment to help them retain employment and succeed.
