Charter Review 101 Workshop

-

The Urban League of Portland is excited to announce we are hosting a virtual workshop to support vibrant community participation in the City of Portland’s Charter Review process!

The Charter Review process is an opportunity to amplify the voices of people of color, youth, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQ+ people, and many more historically disenfranchised communities. Join us for an opportunity to learn more about how this process impacts our community and participate in a community discussion about how our city government can better respond to our community’s needs.

The Portland Charter Commission is recommending changes to our city government and voting system and wants to hear from you! Join us to learn about:

  • Charter Review 101
  • How Charter Review impacts communities of color
  • How we can make changes to our city government and voting system to create a more equitable democracy

This workshop is part of a two-part series. Join us for the first workshop on November 30th from 12pm to 1:30pm. Register at here to sign up.

The second workshop will take place in January 2022. Participants will receive a community stipend of $115 for their participation and we encourage participants to attend both meetings to ensure that they receive the full community stipend.
