The Urban League of Portland has been working for nearly 80 years to empower Black people and others across Oregon and Southwest Washington to achieve equality in various aspects of their daily lives such as education, employment, health, economic security, and quality of life. Much of our work includes working with Legislators to support or pass bills that provide direct services to the clients and communities we serve. Our priorities focused on criminal justice reform, economic justice, education, environmental justice, food insecurity, government reform, health, housing/homelessness, language justice, voting reform, and workforce development. This brunch is to honor MLK and his legacy as well honor the connection MLK has with ULPDX. We will invite electeds and community members to the event and task them with taking action that is justice related.
