Urban League of Portland to Host “Soulful Strut” Spring Senior Fashion Show and Resource Fair
PORTLAND, ORE. – The Urban League of Portland will host its biannual “Soulful Strut” Spring Senior Fashion Show and Resource Fair, an event for older adults and community members to showcase their style, connect with one another, get connected to resources and combat social isolation. Organizers expect 250 community members to attend the event and celebrate the models. The Resource Fair will feature community partners from across the state, including Multnomah County Library, Dress for Success, Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette and Legal Aid Services of Oregon. The Senior Fashion Show will feature three themed segments: “Spring to Summer,” “Diaspora Drip,” highlighting African fashion, and “The Power of Black,” in which all models will wear black. The event will also include a raffle, DJs and a Michael Jackson impersonator.
