After more than a decade, the next State of Black Oregon Report is approaching its release.
This report has been years in the making, shaped by research, data, community voice, lived experience, and the dedication of many people who have worked to ensure that the realities of Black Oregonians are seen, understood, and centered.
As we prepare to bring this work forward, the Urban League will host a State of Black Oregon Community Conversation on October 6 at Portland State University.

The conversation will bring together a thoughtfully curated group of leaders, advocates, partners, policymakers, and changemakers to engage with the report, reflect on what has changed since the last report in 2015, and consider what the findings ask of all of us moving forward.
This is more than the release of a report.
It is an opportunity to bring years of work into conversation with community. It is a moment to recognize both progress and persistent inequities. And, most importantly, it is an opportunity to help shape what comes next for Black Oregon.
Because physical space is limited, in-person attendance will be by invitation. However, we want our entire Urban League team and broader community to have access to this important moment.Β
The event will be livestreamed, and a recording will be available afterward.
Room may be limited, but the conversation is not.
This report reflects a mission we all carry together, and weβre excited to share this next chapter with you.
