We are proud to announce our legislative agenda and as we participate in the 2023 Legislative Session we will continue to center the experiences of African American Oregonians and by extension all Oregonians. We have close to 100 bills that we are tracking this session, with 17 of those bills are our top priorities. For all bills, testimony will be provided, while our top priority bills will get additional support and efforts, such as community events and social media. Several of our top priority bills are also on the agenda for the Fair Shot for All coalition, which the Urban League of Portland is a founder and Steering Committee member. Our priorities focus on criminal justice reform, economic justice, food insecurity, government reform, health, housing/homelessness, language justice, voting reform, and much more!

We challenge you to take the 1st action by signing up for Our Voices United Legislative Action Days! You can register for the in-person Our Voices United Legislative Action Day in Salem on February 23rd from 1-4 pm. This is an opportunity to see your capitol, attend hearings, meet your legislators, and share with them the issues impacting your community. We will provide transportation from Portland to Salem as well as food for the first 75 people who RSVP. If you are unable to attend the in-person event, we have a virtual Our Voices United Legislative Action Day February 21st from 12-1 pm. Speakers will include current legislators as well as community leaders. Take action and register for our events now!
