The Urban League of Portland is proud to share that we have received the OHCS Capacity Building Grant 2025, a critical investment that strengthens our Affordable Housing Program and expands our ability to serve Black communities across Oregon.
As part of this initiative, we are launching two community-driven surveys: one for community members and one for our partners. Together, these surveys will shape how we design affordable housing, build organizational capacity, and deliver culturally specific services that meet the real needs of our community.
For Community Members: Affordable Housing Survey
We want to hear directly from you. This survey will guide the development of:
- Affordable housing that meets real family needs
- Culturally specific services rooted in community values
- Programs and policies that reflect your voice
Your voice matters! Help us build a stronger, more inclusive future.

We are engaging with National Urban League affiliates and partners to better understand:
- Organizational capacity and growth opportunities
- Affordable housing development and real estate strategies
- Technology, infrastructure, and training needs
- Opportunities for collaboration and systems change
Your insights are essential to building stronger, more responsive systems.

Why This Matters
Affordable housing is more than a roof; it's about dignity, stability, and opportunity. By listening to both our community members and our partners, we are building pathways that ensure housing, services, and systems reflect the values, strengths, and lived experiences of Black communities across Oregon.
We invite you to share these surveys widely with your networks. Together, we can create sustainable, community-led solutions that make equity and opportunity possible for all.
