The Urban League of Portland’s Advocacy and Civic Engagement Department works to achieve policy and community change that advances equality, social and economic justice and civil rights for African Americans and others in Oregon. We work to advance the Urban League of Portland’s mission of economic empowerment and civil rights through advocacy, outreach and community organizing, research, policy analysis, issue campaigns and publications that elevate the issues of our community and proposes solutions for policy and social change.
Our Policy on JOBS

Our Policy on HEALTH

Our Policy on EDUCATION
Black students have a right to culturally competent teachers, school administrators, and curriculum. Oregon’s school system needs to prioritize and address the growing achievement gap and disparities in discipline and graduation rates.
